Balloon Flight Over Ngapali
So, you spend a week relaxing at the beach in Ngapali. After a few days, having done all the excursions available, you need a bit of excitement. Why not take a hot air balloon flight above the coastline of the Bay of Bengal? See the villages and their small markets, the numerous golden pagodas, the graceful Kissapanadi river meandering through the town of Thandwe. Enjoy the splendor of the coastal jungle, alive with a myriad of birds as your balloon glides at treetop level. As the balloon soars again, you will appreciate the global view of distant hills, the white sandy beaches and fishermen in their small skiffs catching tonight’s dinner.

You will walk through several villages and discover the simple ways of life of the inhabitants. Along the way, there will be many opportunities to stop and explore different aspects of the daily life in the countryside of Taungoo. The scenery is diverse as the trail passes along the Sittaung river, through agricultural fields and toward the base of the Bago Yoma mountain range. After a few hours walking, you will reach the Myat Saw Nyi Naung pagoda, the ending point of your trek. Transfer back to Taungoo by local tuk-tuk.
Escape to a tropical paradise today with a full day beach safari. You’ll be picked up from your Ngapali hotel and drive to meet up with your local fishing boat and guide. Cast off and sail across blue seas from Ngapali’s shores to the beach at St Andrew’s, a journey of around 1 hour. On arrival in the perfectly shaped bay of Maung Shwe Lay, walk to your local house on the beach under the coconut trees. Bury your toes in the white sand, while sipping a refreshing coconut drink. A brief orientation of the Bay and Maung Shwe Lay village will be given. From here, the day is yours to do as you please. We recommend riding an ox cart through the village- a special opportunity to see a typical rural fishing village. You’ll stop at the Buddhist monastery, elementary school, community library and local houses. A home cooked lunch will be served at midday. The afternoon is at leisure to explore more of the village, spend time with the local students or relax on the beach and snorkel.
